Routine Care

dentist southport ncEven if your daily oral hygiene routine is perfect in brushing, flossing and rinsing with mouthwash; it’s still not enough to keep your oral health in consistent peak condition. Regular bi-annual dental cleanings are essential to your oral health regardless of how often you brush and floss. What happens is that over time food particles and therefore bacteria begin to build up on your teeth, this buildup is commonly referred to as plaque. This plaque buildup, if not regularly and professionally cleaned off can eventually lead to multitude of oral health issues such as gum disease and eventually even tooth loss. But don’t worry, with our routine care program Dr. Morris and Carmichael will ensure that both your oral health and smile stay in tip top shape!

Dental Implants

dental implants southport ncWhether it’s from an accident, poor dental hygiene over time, disease such as diabetes or simply unlucky genetics; sometimes even those whose oral health habits are perfect can find themselves needing to replace a tooth at some point. This is where dental implants come into play. A dental implant is made out of titanium (which doesn’t corrode and is extremely durable) and effectively becomes the foundation for a new artificial tooth which is then capped off with a crown to complete the process.

Extractions and Wisdom Teeth Removal

Every now and then, from a multitude of potential reasons, we all need to have a tooth extracted. The reasons could range from an accident, infection, appearance, or alignment issues; such as would usually be the case in wisdom teeth removal. Regardless of the reason, at Beach Road Dentistry we are fully trained in oral surgery and tooth extractions, including wisdom teeth removal, to be able to make your extraction experience go as smoothly as possible.

Root Canals

Sometimes a cavity becomes more than just a minor issue when it becomes large enough to allow an infection to take place. When this happens, or when a tooth is almost to this point, a root canal is usually needed. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected (if not already) and abscesses may form.

Dentures and Partial Dentures

Dentures are removable false teeth designed to replace missing teeth. Depending on how many natural teeth you’ve lost, we may recommend complete (full) dentures or partial dentures. Dentures can be created to match your existing teeth, so they are not very noticeable.

Emergency Care

Sometimes life just seems to happen.. Little Johnny may have fallen and cracked his tooth, or perhaps you’ve developed an excruciating toothache all of the sudden. These are called dental emergencies and in these situations you should seek professional dental care immediately in order to minimize future damage or even save a tooth that could otherwise be potentially lost. Have a dental emergency? Don’t panic, Beach Road Dentistry has you covered!
